Ireland to New Zealand
Moving from Ireland to New Zealand
New Zealand is renowned as a beautiful and welcoming country. However, it has always been very clear about enforcing its strict immigration laws. It is as well to be fully informed about New Zealand’s Customs, immigration and biosecurity requirements before you or your household goods arrive.
At JIT Removals, our international move experts can answer many of your questions. It is important to be aware up front that in order to avoid paying duty and tax when importing your household goods into New Zealand, you must have been outside of the country for more than 21 months and have personally owned and used your items in Ireland. When you are importing household goods into New Zealand, the Customs and Quarantine (Biosecurity New Zealand) services will need to clear them. They will require a copy of your passport and what is called an ‘Unaccompanied Personal Baggage Declaration’.
Once you submit a request for a quote, we will contact you to discuss your specific needs. We provide door-to-door removals to places like Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and other locations on New Zealand’s north and south islands.
Here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive about moves to New Zealand:

Sea or Air Freight?
Depending on the type of goods you wish to ship, we offer both sea freight and air freight service. Sea freight is cheaper and appropriate for those without rigid time constraints, and provides both full and shared container load services. Air freight is the fastest way to ship your belongings and is usually more expensive than sea freight. There are several ways to approach air freight and JIT Removals can advise you on the most appropriate solutions based on your specific needs.
